Phoenix Perks for July at Devonshire Senior Center

“Phoenix Perks,” a series of entertaining and educational programs for active adults 45 and older, are offered daily at the city of Phoenix Devonshire Senior Center, 2802 E. Devonshire Ave.

Complimentary coffee is offered every Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. sponsored by the Devonshire Site Council. Activities offered at the center at no cost include a talent show at 12:30 p.m. July 23, a summertime mixer at 10 a.m. July 21 and an ice cream social at 12:30 p.m. July 30.

A free trip to the Wellness Community, a cancer support center, will be available from 9:30 a.m. to12:30 p.m. July 14. The Devonshire fitness area offers fitness equipment, treadmills, a recumbent bicycle and free weights; orientation is required. A computer lab is offered at no extra charge and the Internet is available on six computers. Computer classes also are available.

An annual $10 registration fee for Phoenix residents is required and can be used at any of the city’s 15 senior centers. The fee is $20 for non-residents. Participants will receive a membership card that allows them access to activities or services at senior centers, and parks and recreation facilties.
